The three Vampyre paradigms as they are known within the Greater Vampyre Community.
DAYSIDE: (Human life) Dayside life, is a normal mundane human existence. Its the realm of the 5 basic senses, the social realm. Dayside does not deal in the realms of magick, instead it dwells in the realms of skepticism, and the study of myths and lore and fandoms of the vampire mythos. Dayside is not reserved for Vampyres alone, as this is the paradigm that welcomes all human supporters of the cmmunity into the fold, that includes: Cosplayers/Larpers, Academic and Independent Scholars, Black Swans, Fans of Vampire themed everything. and Also the seekers looking for the real thing, in hopes to become a Donor. Everyone starts in the Dayside. In the vampyre spaces of the dayside the tru-vampyres roam, looking to awaken a sleeping kin. Once awakened the new Vampyre is invited into the path of Night.
NIGHTSIDE: (Witch life) Nightside Vampirism is tru-Vampyrism. It is the realm of the esoteric arts of energy manipulation and transmutation. It is the realm of the psychic gifts and exploration of the astral dimensions. This is where you come to know the great dragon, this is the path of Xeper (Becoming). On the Path of the Nightside you must forge a new identity as you step away from the mortal minded paradigm of the Day. You reinvent yourself, by adopting new habits, a new style, and a new name. In the night you are reborn into the Vampyre identity fully awakened and empowered. Some enter the Night and only feed, with their new found powers… while others explore deeper within the mystic terrain and unlock much greater powers, becoming master sorcerers.
TWILIGHT: (Combination of both.) Twilight is a newer concept, that is being widely adopted by various Vampyre organizations, including the Temple of the Vampyre. But! it was already in use 20 years ago Long! before the popular Twilight franchise was even conceived. The general gist of the Twilight path is to combine the Dayside with the Nightside, at least in methodology. Meaning that you must combine Science with Spirituality and Mysticism. In a sense this is the path of the modern Alchemist. I can’t be too sure who originated this concept either Goddess Rosemary of House Shajaza, or Father Todd Sebastian of the Ordo Strigoi Vii; as they’ve both published this idea in their books. But Sebastian has capitalized on this idea the most, so he’s made it undeniably his thing. The way he describes Twilight is with the example of healing yourself from sickness by using both modern medicine and visiting a doctor, while also utilizing holistic methods of healing like ritual, prayer, and meditation.
[I support this system very much, but I also think its not exactly necessary to have this 3rd paradigm to represent a practice and mindset that already exists in the Nightside. The Path of the Night is the path of the Shaman and the Spiritual Alchemist. Just because you abandon the Human identity of the dayside, does not mean that you abandon everything you’ve learned in the Dayside. What you learn in the Dayside informs what you do in the Nightside. Dayside is the realm of the skeptic, who relies on the 5 basic senses to make sense of the world, it is also the realm of science, and academic study. Naturally when you have become scientifically literate, and have become an intellectual, you’re not just gonna suddenly not utilize these gifts because you’ve embarked on a spiritual journey. On the contrary, you’ll use what you’ve acquired in your intellectual pursuits to inform what you discover on your spiritual development. You’ll have a better set of tools to work with when it comes to communicating your Vampyric experience more effectively. Which is more than what most people who awaken into the Nightside have to work with.]
