When the Black Veils were released in 1997 by Michelle Belanger and Father Todd Sebastiaan, the term “Black Swan” was coined. The term was meant to serve as a descriptor for human members of the Vampyr community who do not identify as Vampyr’s. Black Swans are human allies of the Vampyr community. and out of that the term “White Swan” emerged as a descriptor of humans that were antagonistic to the Vampyr community as a whole.
While I was reading the “Totum Lex Vampirica” published in 2010 by Octarine of House Valur in the South African Vampire Alliance… I saw the terms Amber Swan and Crystal Swan, terms I have never heard before in all my years in the community. So I turned to Aramond Van-Rahamdalph of Texas CLAN RAHAMDALPH and asked him if he has heard of these terms? and if he did, could he please enlighten me?
To which he replied:
–Crimson Swans (sanguine donors)
–Crystal Swans (Psi or Pranic donors)
–Amber Swans (donors of both Psi energy or Prana and blood)
I was confused to hear the term “SWAN” being used as a descriptor for a DONOR.
He said “It’s been around for a while now, though I and many prefer to call them Kithani, which comes from the word kith, meaning friend.”
I like that word “Kithani.”
It is clear now that the Vampire Lexicon of our Language has evolved allot since I was last physically present in the community. Now that I’m on my way out of Solitairy practice I can see that I have allot of catching up to do. Luckily for me Clan Rahamdalph, has provided a comprehensive Lexicon for Vampyr’s, Therians, Kithani, and Otherkin on their site.
